1. MediSave Maternity Package (MMP)
Utilize your MediSave savings to cover pre-delivery consultations, tests, and hospital bills. To claim pre-delivery charges, present the bills to the hospital where your baby was delivered; they will assist in processing the claim.
2. MediSave Grant for Newborn
All Singapore Citizen babies receive a MediSave grant of $4,000 deposited into their MediSave account. This grant can be used for your child’s healthcare expenses, including vaccinations, outpatient treatments, and MediShield Life premiums.
3. MediShield Life Coverage
This mandatory basic health insurance provides all Singapore Citizen babies with coverage for large hospital bills and subsidized treatments. Premiums are payable by families but can be offset using the MediSave Grant for Newborn.
Baby Bonus, Cash Grants & Free Passport for Singaporean Newborns
Baby Bonus Scheme & Child Development Account (CDA)
The Baby Bonus Scheme offers a cash gift and the Child Development Account (CDA) to support child-raising costs. The CDA is a special savings account where the government matches parental contributions dollar-for-dollar, up to a specified cap. Funds in the CDA can be used for child-related expenses at approved institutions, including preschools, medical clinics, and enrichment centers.
